Mmm, cookie! Marceline's Confectionery (Selma's Cookies)

Oh, how do I love these cookies?

Marceline's Confectionery is the candy shop in Downtown Disney. A little research revealed that they don't bake the cookies...in fact, the cookies are made by Selma's Cookies - they make cookies for two major (*ahem*) theme parks in the United States at two bakeries...one in Las Vegas and one in Orlando. *snerk*

Whatever, cookies.

The snickerdoodle is 3.5-inches wide, yum-o! It's a pale pretty yellow, sprinkled with cinnamon sugar. Snickerdoodles are defined as sugar cookies with a crackle-y top. Only I would say they aren't that boring, because that just sounds...boring.

The snickerdoodle is cake-y, dough-y. It's dense and rich. The exterior is perfectly crispy, the interior thick. The cookie is slightly sweet, but not like a sugar rush.

I love this cookie, it's plain and simple. It's not too complicated or over-done, it's a cookie.

Mmm, cookie.

Hiya! We're getting ready for another day of family fun. *snerk* BJs for Mother's Day cards, Wal-mart for tomato and pepper plants to be planted.
I hope your day is good. HUGS!

ello ello, ive been working hard to try and figure out how to make these at home...i think im getting close...the average tollhouse cookie is a good place to start, only instead of two sticks butter i used 4 oz butter flavor shortening, and 4 oz cream cheese (you cant taste it). be careful not to over mix the sugars, you want them grainy, and be careful not to over mix the flour or youll knock the levening out of it. bake 375 8 minutes, drop the temperature to 325 8 minutes, cool a few minutes, then let cool on rack...next time im going to use a solid 3 cups flour..i think thats where i went wrong last time. also use a broken bakers bar or melting chips instead of the usual..

ahem, now, as to the real reason i was comenting...these things are good arent they?...you know how they are better? stick them in the microwave for about 20 seconds...warm moist gooey cookie heaven
