Mmm, cake! Creative Cakery

Another local product - this one available around Southern California and online nationally. They started in Long Beach and expanded...

Creative Cakery Bakery took over the spot of my favorite bakery EVER in the Market Place. Yes, I'm still bitter, it's been like 15 years and I STILL miss Revels. Mmm, cake. Marble cake, chocolate buttercream...*thud*

Where was I? Oh, yeah. Creative Cakery. They make bundt cakes, which are kind of nostalgic and cute. I understand that baking them is often a bitch, because they sometimes refuse to un-mold themselves, but I've never tried it.

This is a "Just For You"-sized Chocolatey Chip Bundt Cake. It's roughly 3-inches round and 2-inches high. It's a chocolate cake with chocolate chips covered with a cream cheese frosting.

Ehhh, this one was just OK. It was actually a dry chocolate devil's food cake, kind of disappointing. The chocolate chips were semi-sweet, which provided a nice bit of tang to off-set the chocolate cake, but the cake was just dry.

The cream cheese frosting was sweet. Way too sweet. I like a sharper contrast to the sweetness of the cake and this just added to the sweetness, too much so.

Well, they can't all be winners. Ahem. Sweet, bland and boring. Oh well.
